PAP 2008 - The hell for me at the first time

Recently, my school is organizing an event which is for the Chinese New Year 2008, which is called the PAP event, or in the full term - Pesta Angpou 2008.

In that time, I am a AJK or called as a member in the unit. By then, I don't know the reason, but everytime when there is a meeting, I failed to attend (they opened a meeting during I am having my class, or at the time we are going to enjoy our time, which is in Sunday).

By then, when I attended the meeting, my leader which is supposed to be arrived is not arriving. At the end I am the one being blamed by the leader just because that she is not atteneded. Hey, is that my work for that to ask she to arrive? If so, then why don't the leader of my gorup tells me that they have a meeting at that time?!

And then during the Star Search, which is the event they are going to find members, they set the location in a place that students hard to go, since I am hurrying for my assignment and also I have class at the later time, so I failed to go there since it takes a lot of time walking there, and even though there is no any information that they are helding the event as well as the location, even my schedule! When the time I am at other place, then the phone suddenly ringing and one of them tell me that I am on duty #$#$%%$^!#@...

Okay, forget at it, and then during the study week, most of us are going home since that Sabahans and Sarawakians live near to the location. By then after I am at my home for around 5 days, then suddenly, two messages appeared and with the first is the second gathering (I don't know when is the first one), and then is a meeting (again). I gives my justification on that I cannot go, and then just by a few days ago, they called me and told me that the leader have made a decision to expel me out, by giving a lot of chicken excuses.

They saying that my attendance are poor or something, the gathering I did not go (I don't even know that there is the first gathering) for both gatherings, meeting I got no rights to speak since they expect that they are all-mighty, and now they asked me to choose to stay or change. My reply: "Is there any more way for me to choose? It seems that all of these have been set and then just waiting for the time. Then now I am in the performers posistion...

Just like most of my friends say, the event is just making a shame for it, and for me, saying that I am being used by them for it, in the beginning on it I believe that I will try to do but I can't since there are tons of assignment I need to do, and I need to set my priority for my assignment. When I am now free and going to do it, then they are saying this to me. I felt that I am just a stupid person since my friends are right - they loves to misjudge someone just by the appearance, without knowing in the real reason.

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't think that the leaders on that are right. They should know why - I am not going to explain it, but I will surely that I will not helping on the unit further more for the event. I am totally dissapointed on them. Who is worse in their personality, they should know it though. I am not going to say or comment on them.

Darn it, the unit, my leader.

Study week, any sense?

I have stayed in University Malaysia Sabah for a few months, it seems that the life in university is far more different than what I have expected, but there are still some are the same thing as well.

Just at two weeks ago, around 10th of October, the school (get used to it, since I am more familiar to the word 'school' if compared to 'university') has commenced to have a 3 week's study week, which is until 26th of October (In fact it is just only 16 days), for us to prepare on our final exam.

At the same time, Hari Raya and Deepavali is just at the few days later, if I am right, 12th of October. It is normal that the Malays and Indians were going back to his/her hometown (kampong) to celebrate this festive season, but if they are going back, (same for Chinese), will they study?

The study week is just making for a relaxation since almost all of us are going back to our hometown, except for them who are coming abroad, especially Peninsula's student, since the air ticket are quite exorbitant for them to go home just for these 16 days.

After all, even though we are having our finals at 28th of October, but it takes around a month to deal with all of the final exams, why can't they just commence the exams to be set in the same time in most places, while we need to waste our time at our hostel, and just for study, in fact for myself, I can say that even though there is a gap before the next test, especially a week or somehow, I still will not study since for my personality, I am quite passive and I don't want to be forced to study since I will also forget it at the very last moment.

There are some will reject on my opinion that the final test commence at the same time during the festive season, or just after a few days at the festive season, so that we can handle all of our test before November and we can already enjoy our life at our hometown for the rest of the days till the next semester.

For me, it is quite wonderful to deal with the test earlier in order to enjoy life, so... how about you?

Wangan Mignight Maximum Tune 3, updated record on 26-9-07

I found that I am the one who is easily addicted to the racing game even it has costs me a lot in there. I have cleared the class A stage just by winning the races without any problem. This might be considered lucky for me as also the first time I spent so much in the arcade center.

Even though that the center is not a healthy place as mentioned by society, but sometimes it is good for you just to release your tension too. Of course, I am not asking you to go there everyday, once a week shall be fine for it, aye?

Game, is a thing that you use to enjoy and release your stress, it is fun sometimes. But never too addict on it, at least I consider myself that I am not so addict, since there are more people that are addicted than me, if compared on the mileage, mine is not even 200km, but there are someone that is more than 9000km.

Try to play games, then you will understand. this is a good game, but might require some skills and also of course, money.

My group work, US7222, Entrepreneurship

I have do the group work for one of my course, by then I am having an unfortunate and a terrible ending which is caused by the group and also from the chancellery building.

I have some photos of the event and I will show some of them to let you see on the event which is on my school.

We are the first year student who takes the course yet we are not getting full support from the university, and we are being sued from them that we are doing something without permission in fact that we just do for the work for around 3 to 7 days. From there it can also totally show that the poor management we can find in the university.

The second day of my event, the people from chancellery building came and make a freakily havoc and caused a lot students that are selling that time having a really big dissatisfied atmosphere. As mentioned. We are not able to get full support yet we need to do a lot of things that slows down the process of us.

While on the third day, I am the one who need to be the peace maker, even though I don’t know what have happened in my group, because there is fighting between the group members and they are affecting me that makes me don’t know what I can do about it.

This had gives me a very good lesson and it had gives the second semester student for the first year a negative expectations on it. Sometimes, you will need to use your money to exchange with the marks because if you are not doing so, you will absolutely just failing yourself because you are not willing to sacrifice something.

At these, they are also not considerate able or rational because all of them who had do something on the work thinks that they are all mighty and it is a hard work for them already, and our works is not so hard at all. They need to be fair at anything and no complaints since all of us in university are all same level – all of the courses and lectures are same important. But it will be not avoidable if sometimes you need to go to the lecture a bit late. You will surely fail if you cannot meet on the criteria on considerate or rational.

This is also caused myself that what should I do in handling the tough situation, I am confused…

But still, I still need to send a message of my thanks to all of my members that have performed an excellent job in individually or in groups, even though as expected, there are obstacles and crisis in the group, but still we are able to make sure all of these are done in a good manner.

Survival guide in university

I have studied in here for a few months, and least knows some of the guides in the university. There is some tips or tricks for us in order to survive in this university (Dang it, please don’t really use it, that is my opinion after all).

Below are the ways for me to survive (but not to get an A in the test, I hope there is one for me) in here, I guess so, not really, though.

1. Always be kind to others. Not matter that person is good or not, kindness worth more valuable than criticism. And not possible that you will want to have an enemy that will face with you for a few months or even years don’t it?
   
2. Beware on talking something towards that you are not really known on, especially to a person that you have just met or something. This is because that you will never know that person is as good as you or not. Always know that. In university, a lot of people are commonly bad guys that will have a fake good personality. You will feeling that he is good in the first impression, but not always, as always mentioned in merchandising, it is always too good to be true. Rarely in an occasion that they will speak honest or well to you.
   
3. You have to throw your pride sometimes. Pride is what, you might ask? Hmm… if it is said in simple words, then it shall be called ego. You will need to throw your pride or ego to achieve something, sometimes. But not meant that it is asking you to do a bad thing, eh.
   
4. Always take your aim at assignment. There is the best part you can have your best shot for you to get. And try to be picky if the condition really needs to do so. It Is not possible that you will just directly miss your important marks at there whilst it is the easiest to score, doesn’t it?
   
5. Most of us are considered as passive people that will not join activities in the university. This can be said that the huge load of works or they are not necessary to do so. Even though there is a lot of words in their advertisement that they said ‘compulsory’ but it is not really important to follow it because that is a trickery from university to force us.
   
6. Aware yourself when you are doing a group work, especially with the massive amount. Don’t expect the work that will have word ‘equal’ or the ‘team work’ a lot since it is hard for them to get a good co-operation as they thinks that they are expecting them to be the rider only to get the marks but without doing anything. It will be better if you are able to find someone you know very well to do it.

There are still some ways to do and don’ts in university. Just as the key, try to do what you think you should and try to avoid some is don’t based on your common sense there.

Comments on the course- UT9142 (Rangkaian Internet/ Internet and Netorking) in UMS

There is a course that I am taking currently on this semester, which is the assignemt of making this blog (frankly, if I am not taking the course, for sure I will not make a blog since I rarely got time to manage on it though.

This is a minor course for the university, which is from the course code UT series (most of UT series’ course are all about science and technology), and my course is UT 9142, which are called Internet and Networking, under the lecturer in the School of Engineering and Information Technology (SKTM- Sekolah Kejuruteraan dan Teknologi Maklumat), Madam Siti Hasdiah.

From my experience in the class, she is a really kind lecturer the hat will always give us extra effort to do her assignments and also will have gives us the knowledge on the internet (even though I hate to memorize the phrases, hopefully at the final she will not making the questions on that, but more on general knowledge or common sense is better). She gives us a chance to let us know more on internet by making the first assignment that do a research on the information technology, which can be included something just like e-commerce, security and privacy issues, P2P services and so on…

While for the second work, she gives us to make a blog, as I mentioned in the first, even though most of us don’t know or don’t want to do it, but for me, assignment is most important as it is the best way for you to score an A in your course. For me, the reason I don’t like blogging is because I don’t know what I am supposed to write. Of course, no one will expect to have more assignments as there is a burden for us due to the time limit and resources of us are limited, unless there is no final – I mean, use one of the assignments to become the final exam (If this happens, in no doubt most of us will overjoyed).

For the lecture, I found that is the good method for us to enjoying and know more on internet and networking. We knows internet and we knows networking too (for most of the boys or game maniacs, for sure they know what is LAN, since LAN is a part from networking).

Honestly, I am quite enjoyed to take the course and of course, I also got something that I dislike about it. As I taking this course: the reasons are I love internet and networking and wanted to get more knowledge on it, and also this is one of my strengths, so I can make a great advantage on this, even though the course credit hours is 2.

While the thing that I don’t like is the class time: because if the class is on the day before Friday, then I can go home after my lecture at 8-9 am, since my bus going to my home is at afternoon 1pm, and Friday is always the day that hard to get a bus to go back to hostel, since I need to make things up and then take the bus again to the city. This will take a lot of time, and for sure, an hour is not enough.

Anyway, this course – UT9142, Internet and Networking (Rangkaian Internet) in UMS is a great course for us. I will recommend this to my friend as the lecture is easy, assignments can make you to have a great ease on the internet services (except for the poor quality in the wireless internet in the school, especially at my hostel, poor service yet the fee is exorbitant…)

Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 (Comment)

Today, I went off to Center Point (A city mall in Kota Kinabalu), as usual, I go into the arcade center. I changed some of the tokens and then wandering inside. At there, I have found a new arcade racing game (I think it might be old for certain countries), Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3. I know the game and I have the save data of the previous one, but I have lost the card somewhere, so it take my interest and I have make the card for the save data. It costs me RM 5 for the card, and the game is RM2 for a match, either you win or lost. Except that, you also got the option to tune your car either to grip mode or into the other: drift mode.

In grip mode, your car will become more stable but slower. Meanwhile in drift mode, your car will have a better performance, then your cornering will become quite bad.

This game is somehow interesting because that it is a street racing game, just like Initial D. Whom played Initial D must love to the game. If say that Initial D is a mountain 1 on 1 street racing game, then Wangan Midnight is a version of 1 on 1 highway racing game (a lot of cars will pass by, you need to perform a near miss to avoid clash on traffic), with the final boss who is called Akio Ashkura, the driver of the Devil Z (If I am right it might be the older version of 2000GT or Fairlady Z).

I have some pictures below, of the save data of mine recently, I think there will be a lot of types on the save cards in other placees. I have used around RM 20 to play on the data, quite expensive for me though. Don’t think me wrong; I always come here, but does not mean that I am not studying at university, eh.
